Sources have indicated to GamesIndustry International that Sony has made a deal with Gaikai to offer first- and third-party PlayStation and PS2 games on PS3 via streaming. Presumably, we’ll hear the official details about this next week during E3, assuming it’s the real thing.
While backward compatibility is a feature some of us are certainly adamant about, I don’t know that cloud gaming is quite there yet in terms of picture quality and latency, although NVIDIA would probably disagree. Perhaps that’s a sacrifice worth taking in order to play our favorite older-gen games on modern hardware.
