But some special effects seem to make up for it
Quantum Break seems to sport a 720p resolution, according Digital Foundry.
The tech experts put the Xbox One version through its paces at a recent press event, where they concluded the upcoming title features a native resolution of just 720p,
Digital Foundry surmises developer Remedy Entertainment might be replicating what it previously did with Alan Wake, mitigating a less-than-cutting-edge visual output with technical wizardry to give the game a more impressive outward than the resolution might suggest in and of itself.
Though Digital Foundry maintains Quantum Break is “stunning in many areas,” the group suspects Remedy might be using film grain and motion blur along with stellar anti-aliasing to create something that blends previously rendered frames with current ones.
As for the frame rate, the title reportedly runs at a solid 30 frames-per-second for the most part, apart from open areas, where some minor performance issues seemed to be present.
Remedy has yet to comment on the matter, but it’s definitely something we’ll keep an eye on as we begin to near the Xbox One and PC action game’s April 5 release date.
