That also includes Arceus support
So three months ago, The Pokemon Company low key confirmed that Pokemon Home will add support for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl “sometime in 2022.” It was super easy to forget all about that and kind of just…move on with your life, but now that the pair of games are actually out and lots of people are trying to make it work, it’s worth reiterating. As a reminder, a Pokemon Home 2022 update will bring these features into the fray.
The Gen 4 remakes will be getting their due next year (as well as Arceus, after it’s out) as confirmed by this article here on the official Japanese Pokemon site. “Details of the collaboration will be announced on the Pokemon official website in the future,” which could be anytime between now and when the thing is imminently out. It’s how The Pokemon Company rolls.
For now, you can trade creatures the old fashioned way: in a Pokemon Center. You need to defeat the first gym leader (Roark) to unlock the mechanic.
One last tip. Make sure you pick up the free mystery gift before the deadline:
“If you connect to the internet and use the Mystery Gift feature, you can receive early-purchase bonuses, such as a Manaphy Egg and the Platinum Style outfit. These bonuses will be available until Monday, February 21, 2022. Please make sure to receive them!”
Also note that a decent chunk of features aren’t actually in the game yet:
“On the day of the release, interactions using local and internet communication in the Union Room will be limited to two players. However, future updates are planned to increase the maximum number of players, as well as add greeting and Capsule Decoration functions. Additionally, future updates will enable Link Trades at the Global Wonder Station (GWS) facility in Jubilife City, as well as Link Battles via the Colosseum function in Pokémon Centers.”
