Red Dead Redemption and Mafia II delayed

In the same conference call that carried the exciting news of BioShock 2’s release date, Take-Two informed listeners that 2K Czech’s Mafia II and Rockstar San Diego’s Red Dead Redemption have been delayed until early fiscal 2010.

The reason for the delay is “to allow additional development time for the titles and to maximize their full potential in terms of the quality of the player experience and market performance.”  Take-Two is looking out for you … and its bottom line.

The two titles could hit at any time between November 2009 and April 2010. They will more than likely land on store shelves in December, when I’m flat broke because I just bought the four billion other AAA titles that debut during the holiday season.
