The release of the Dawntrail expansion for Final Fantasy XIV is going to be a big one for fans. After all, it’s the first major expansion for the game since Endwalker, and that came out nearly three years ago in December 2021. With Dawntrail round the corner, though, you will need to put Final Fantasy XIV down for a bit since it’s going offline for maintenance this week.
According to a blog post from Square Enix, maintenance is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 26 at around 4 a.m. PDT / 7 a.m. EDT / 12 p.m. BST for the console versions, and on Thursday, June 27 at around 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT / 4 p.m. BST for the PC versions. As such, Final Fantasy 14 will be completely unplayable. Ideally, this’ll only last until Friday, June 28 at 2 a.m. PDT / 5 a.m. EDT / 10 a.m. BST, but that’s still subject to change.
As a reminder, there will be an early access period for Dawntrail as well as a couple of further patches that will add new content. Be sure to check our maintenance schedule for when these will arrive and what will be included in the patches. Otherwise, if you have any unfinished business in Final Fantasy XIV, you’d better get it out of the way now before it goes offline. We also have some suggestions for what you can do to best prepare for Dawntrail, such as de-cluttering your inventory and leveling up an alt Job.
There is a lot to look forward to when Dawntrail launches on July 2. Aside from a new continent to explore, there will be two new Job classes (including the already popular Pictomancer), a new playable race, and Final Fantasy XIV‘s first major graphics overhaul in over 10 years.
