Princess Peach: Showtime! box art gives Peach a fierce new look

Subtle but significant.

Princess Peach: Showtime! is slated to hit shelves on March 22, 2024, and as the release date crawls nearer, we’re seeing increased marketing for the game. Twitter user @Nintendeal noted that Nintendo has surreptitiously swapped out the box art. This change can be seen on the eStore.

The new art is almost entirely the same, save for a few extremely minor changes. Most notably, Princess Peach has been slightly edited to have more of a determined face, making her look like she’s ready for battle.

Kung-fu Peach in the background has also been given a fiercer face. Princess Peach isn’t the first Nintendo character to get this treatment, as Reddit user /u/Stilgrave has noticed that Kirby gets an angrier face in his Western releases.

Online, reception to the change has been mixed. Some people like the old face, describing it as friendlier. Others have taken a liking to the redesign which shows that Princess Peach isn’t anyone to mess with.

As trailers reveal, the game will have the princess putting on different outfits that grant her unique abilities. She’ll be joined by Stella, who also looks prepared for battle.
