Clean Sweep
FuturLab’s unique and strangely compelling rub-a-dub-dub title PowerWash Simulator has officially welcomed seven million players to its hot water action — as opposed to its hot, water action — since its release in the summer of 2022.
Originally released on PC and Xbox platforms, with PlayStation and Nintendo Switch ports arriving earlier this year, PowerWash Simulator is something of a first-person-shooter with a difference, as players race to clean up a series of grubby locales with maximum efficiency. These stages range from suburban homes and playgrounds, to cleaning vehicles such as speedboats and a Mars Rover. Players found the jet-washing action both satisfying and relaxing, which has led to the title’s success.

Now published by Square Enix, PowerWash Simulator has received several crossover DLC packs, which afford players the chance to polish up familiar locations from franchises such as Final Fantasy and Tomb Raider. Essentially, the sky’s the limit for the title, as any and all manner of vehicles, buildings, and familiar video game scenarios can be added to the list of available stages in future… futr.
PowerWash Simulator is available now on PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
