Pokemon GO Detective Pikachu Returns Event: Dates and Details

Pikachu and Slowpoke in a detective hat? Yes, please!

Popular Pokemon site Serebii has revealed a new event coming to Pokemon Go. Apparently, Pokemon GO developer Niantic has announced the next event for the popular mobile game. The Detective Pikachu Returns event is a collaboration with the upcoming Detective Pikachu Returns game that releases on October 6. Players can obtain a Cowboy Hat Slowpoke as well as a Shiny Detective Pikachu. Several unique Pokemon will also spawn in the wild during the event including:

Sudowoodo, Snivy, and Rowlet will also be available via Field Research, which will also feature a new Collection Challenge. Additionally, players can get 2x Experience for Spinning PokeStops. Completing Timed Research Tasks will allow players to get the Pikachu in a Detective Hat.

When does the Pokemon GO Detective Pikachu Returns Event start?

The Pokemon GO Detective Pikachu Returns event starts on October 5 at 10 a.m. and will run through October 8 at 8 p.m. This will give players about 3.5 days to do everything they want to do in the event, which is not much time. Make sure you get out there and start completing your Field Research and Timed Research ASAP so you can collect all the available rewards!

Here is a countdown to the start of the event. When this timer hits zero, the Detective Pikachu Returns event should go live on Pokemon GO.
