Everyone likes prizes, right? Well, if you’d be interested in free tickets to the 2008 NCAA Final Four and/or a free car, then boy, do I have some news for you. 2K Sports has joined with Pontiac yet again to hold the third annual Pontiac Virtual NCAA Final Four Tournament, so your opportunity for college basketball (gaming) immortality is here! Oh yeah, there’s a catch: you have to be better than thousands of other gamers in College Hoops 2K8 — but you can do that, no sweat…right?
Registration for the tournament began on Friday, February 22nd, and it’s open to anyone, although the tournament is exclusive to Xbox Live. You’ll have until March 14th to enter, and the tournament itself will take place from March 17th to March 30th. The top four semifinalists in the tourney will each get a sweet prize package, including a six-day trip to San Antonio and tickets to both Final Four games on Saturday, April 5th, and the Championship game on Monday, April 7th.
Once the four semifinalists are deep in the heart of Texas, they’ll play out the final round of the College Hoops 2K8 tournament “in front of a crowd of screaming fans,” and the winner gets to drive off the court in a brand-spanking-new Pontiac Vibe GT. Last year’s tournament had over 6,500 players, but they’re expecting even more this time around. Think you have what it takes to win? Prove it by entering at http://virtualfinal4.2ksports.com, and let us know how it goes. The full press release from 2K Sports can be found after the jump…and remember, kids: no guts, no glory.
