And unsurprisingly outstanding

Paul Robertson, whose work you might have seen in games like Scott Pilgrim vs. The World or Mercenary Kings or in crazy-ass gifs like this, has teamed up with fellow animator Ivan Dixon and musician Jeremy Dower for a heartfelt pixel-art tribute to The Simpsons.

It is marvelous; unquestionably good enough to be an official couch gag for the show.

I’ve watched the video a few times since first encountering it last night and I’m still catching fresh references. The Capital City Goofball. Sir Oinks-A-Lot. Lisa dressed as Florida. So, so good.

My only complaint is that there isn’t a new Simpsons game being made in this style.
