Palworld Flying Mounts Guide – How to get Nitewing

Take to the skies early with Nitewing

There are a ton of Pals in Palworld, each with varying strengths and uses. You can eventually use certain Pals as mounts, to fast travel around on both the ground and via the skies. In particular, obtaining a Flying Mount in Palworld really opens up the game, allowing you to more freely and easily traverse the map. The first flying mount you can get your hands on in Palworld is Nitewing, which you will want to catch.

How to get your first Flying Mount Nitewing in Palworld

In order to obtain your first Flying Mount, you need to find and catch it and then craft a saddle for it. Even though there are a few Flying Mounts you can acquire in Palworld, you’re going to want to go for Nitewing first. The main reason you want Nitewing first is simply because it is one of the first flying Pals you encounter, but also the first one you can make a saddle for.

You can find a Nitewing flying around in the sky just northwest of your original starting location in Palworld. They don’t travel in groups or pairs like most Pals, but you can find a few flying around in this area. Nitewing typically ranges between Level 10 and 15 in this area, so it may be a bit tricky at first. However, as long as you have a few leveled-up Pals with you and maybe a Bow, you should have no problem catching your first Nitewing. Make sure you catch it of course, as killing it won’t let you mount it.

How to mount Nitewing in Palworld

In order to mount Nitewing, one of the earliest Flying Mounts in Palworld, you will need to craft a Nitewing’s Saddle. The only requirement to unlock the technology for Nitewing’s Saddle is two Technology Points and at least Player Level 15.

Once you’ve unlocked the technology, visit a Pal Gear Workbench and you can craft the Nitewing’s Saddle using the following resources:

  • 20 Leather
  • 10 Cloth
  • 15 Ingots
  • 20 Fiber
  • 20 Paldium Fragments

After crafting the saddle, simply make sure your Nitewing Pal is in your Pal Party and then spawn it. Once it’s out, simply fold the ‘F’ key and your Nitewing will run towards you allowing you to grab ahold of it and mount it, then start soaring in the skies.

While on your Nitewing, you can fly up into the sky using Spacebar and descend down towards the ground using Left Control.

Now that you know how Palworld Flying Mounts and how to get Nitewing, you should have a much easier time exploring the map!
