The masterful metroidvania game Ori and the Blind Forest will be on Nintendo Switch before we know it. In the last week before launch, Moon Studios has put out a substantial Switch demo. It’s a chance to see how well the port runs in a word: beautifully and remind yourself that “Damn, Ori is amazing.”

It’s wild seeing an official Xbox article talk about a Nintendo Switch title, and I’m thankful Ori and the Blind Forest is one of the very few Microsoft Studios games to make it onto the system. It feels right.

If you manage to break away from The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (or whatever else you dig into this weekend), by all means, check out the demo. Like Hollow Knight before it, this deserves a warm reception – not just due to the game itself, but because of the care that went into this port.

These past few years have been wonderful to metroidvania fans.
