Oneechanbara: The Movie

Recommended Videos

I may not be a movie connoisseur, but I know what I like. And while Americans love to hate silly videogame-based movies, I love them. I’m the guy they make them for. I may be alone in this, but give me Dead or Alive over something like Cinderella Man any day.

It seems that my videogame movie prayers have been answered with the announcement of a new Oneechanbara movie. The Japanese budget hack-and-slash series starring a bikini-wearing, katana-wielding Japanese cowgirl has always raised eyebrows, but some seem more attracted to the game’s promotional campaigns than the title itself. What better way to win them over than a pervy Japanese movie!

The movie was just announced during a Tokyo press conference, and it will star Eri Otoguro as Aya, idol Chise Nakamura Aya’s imoto, and Manami Hashimoto as Reito. Kotaku says that this film will be screened at Shibuya Q-AX Cinema and Cinemart Shinjuku in April, before its full release.

Is this your kind of movie? Or are you one of those movie people?
