No more logo packs: All 20 Premier League teams are coming to Football Manager

All 20 of England’s Premier League clubs are officially coming to Football Manager, with Sports Interactive announcing a multi-year agreement with the world’s most popular league to bring the clubs, logos, kits, and player photos to the game.

Starting with the 2024/25 season, the entire league will be officially represented in the game, meaning you no longer have to download logo packs to get their badges and kits added to your database. The move means that the top six divisions in the English football pyramid will be officially in the game, from the top flight all the way down to the Vanarama National League North and South.

In the official blog post, Sports Interactive described the Premier League as “the pinnacle of domestic football,” stating that it’s “defined by iconic on-pitch events and memories spanning more than three decades,” with a manager behind each memorable moment, much like “every great Football Manager story.”

“Whether you’re attempting to mastermind the futures of Liverpool or Arsenal, chase European football with Crystal Palace, or maximize Ipswich Town’s return to the big time, you’ll be immersed in English top-flight action like never before.”

The studio says that further information on the integration of the Premier League in Football Manager will come later in the year, suggesting that there’s more to this partnership than officially licensed clubs.

As a long-time fan of the series, I am delighted to see this partnership, especially as my beloved Manchester United will no longer be called the horrific “Man UFC.” This happened in 2021 when United took legal action against Sports Interactive over complaints that the game infringed their trademark by using the club’s name without a license.

Of course, if you’ve been playing the game, you’ll have seen licensed Premier League teams in there already, after Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City agreed deals with the company. In the past, we’ve had to download logo packs created by fans of Football Manager and essentially mod the game to get our favorite Premier League teams in the game. Thankfully that will be a thing of the past from next season.
