Looking at these new screenshots has me excited to play No More Heroes again on the PS3, although I don’t see this HD remake as a replacement of the SD original. If No More Heroes Wii is Supergirl via Dave Cooper, then No More Heroes PS3 is Supergirl via Adam Hughes. Both have a place in my heart. OK, that’s not quite right, but the general idea is there; this new version of No More Heroes feels like a new artist taking on an established character. That sort of thing happens with comics all the time, but with videogames, it’s a pretty rare phenomenon, and something to be celebrated.
It’s a less rare phenomenon for established female videogame characters to get new skimpy outfits. That’s one of the other features of this PS3 port: the game will have a mode where the already provocatively dressed ladies wear even less clothes, so if you like that sort of thing, you’re in luck. More exciting for me is the rumor that No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise (the formal name for this HD port) will feature additional boss fights, borrowed from No More Heroes 2. That’s a lot to be excited about, for die-hard fans of the original and No More Heroes virgins alike.
