Nintendo suing another R4 reseller

Piracy on the DS is a big deal, as we’re all aware. The proliferation of the R4 cartridge is beyond a thorn in Nintendo’s side. It’s a fully mature rosebush, one they’ll have to deal with one prick at a time.

Filing a case in the Western District Court of Washington on May 11th, Big N is attempting to deal another blow towards those who would profit from piracy. They are suing Kevin Niu of Queens, NY and his company NXPGAME for selling “game copiers” over the internet. Nintendo asserts that NXPGAME is willfully infringing on their intellectual property rights by selling the devices and — I guess for good measure — violating their copyrights by using Nintendo trademarks on their website.

According to the press release Nintendo sent out regarding the case, their legal department made repeated attempts to get NXPGAME to cease and desist selling the naughty cartridges, eventually managing to get Niu to take down his site. That is, until he decided to open another site and redirect visitors of the old address over to his new digs. That’s just asking for trouble, isn’t it?
