Considering I’m writing this on a holiday, the Nintendo downloadable game situation could have looked worse. But in fact, it’s not that bad at all.
For one, X-Scape — a 3D space tank title developed by Q-Games (PixelJunk series) — hits DSiWare. WiiWare also gets two games that might look familiar from their Xbox LIVE releases, Ben 10 Alien Force: The Rise of Hex and Voodoo Dice.
We also see a return of Virtual Console updates with Natsume’s Super NES classic, Wild Guns. If you thought Red Dead Redemption was nuts, I’ve got one word for you: robots.
DSiWare
- X-Scape (Nintendo, 1 player, 800 DSi Points)
- Hero of Sparta (Gameloft, 1 player, 800 DSi Points)
- A Topsy Turvy Life: The Turvy’s Strike Back (Tecmo Koei, 1-2 players, 200 DSi Points)
- Telegraph Sudoku & Kakuro (Sanuk Games, 1 player, 200 DSi Points)
WiiWare
- Ben 10 Alien Force: The Rise of Hex (Konami, 1 player, 1,000 Wii Points)
- Voodoo Dice (Ubisoft, 1-4 players, 1,000 Wii Points)
- Robocalypse: Beaver Defense (Vogster Entertainment, 1 player, 600 Wii Points)
Virtual Console
- Wild Guns (Super NES, Natsume, 1-2 players 800 Wii Points)
I should also note that it’s nice to finally see Robocalypse: Beaver Defense finally hit WiiWare. I was a big fan of the overlooked Nintendo DS title — loved the character design — so I’d be interested in seeing how it translates to tower defense.
