Newly announced The Golf Club has the best name ever

The Golf Club. THE GOLF CLUB.

The Golf Club. I cannot contain myself. I’m having a ball with this one. The realistic-looking golf game, just announced for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, is meant to butt up against EA’s no-longer-Tiger-Woods-branded PGA Tour, which has been puttering around without direct competition for a while now.

The Golf Club — just typing it makes me happy — is also procedurally generated, so you can always have a fresh course, though an editing suite will let you modify courses to your liking if the end result is a little too rough. Developer HB Studios also claims there will be next to no load times between holes. Who likes to wait between holes?

There is also some hilariously casual in-game commentary. It’s not quite golf announcer calm; it’s more like a Red Lobster server’s dulled complacency with a glint of ecstasy from remembering what human goodness looks like.

Of course I’d like to wedge one more golf joke in here, but I don’t want to give you a stroke.
