Volume is an upcoming retelling of the Robin Hood legend from Thomas Was Alone creator Mike Bithell, featuring the vocal talents of both ex-Destructoid editor Jim Sterling and Andy Serkis, the talent behind Gollum in The Lord of the Rings.

Today Bithell dropped a new trailer for the non-violent stealth game that shows us a brief glimpse at some of the game’s new enemies, as well as our first taste of Andy Serkis VO as Volume‘s Antagonist Gisbourne.

The trailer starts by showing off the Pawn and Turret, both of which have featured in playable demos of the game at events. Pawns walk on a set path, have a small vision cone directly in front of them, and shoot players a few seconds after they come into view. The Turrets have a slightly larger vision cone, are fixed onto a spot on the floor, and either view a set area, or rotate in a predictable fashion.

In terms of new enemies shown off in the trailer, the first shown off is the Knight. The Knight has a vision cone until he spots the player, where it vanishes and he blindly charges at the player and attacks using a short-range melee weapon.

The Rogue has a large vision cone that stretches out in a full circle around them. With no chance to sneak up on them normally, they are likely to be a fairly difficult enemy to maneuver past.

The Hound is a small dog like enemy which seems to audibly alert guards to your location rather than attacking you directly, making escape more difficult. It also doesn’t appear to have a vision cone in this trailer. Maybe that’s for cinematic effect, maybe he is constantly sniffing you down to keep you moving. It’s a short look, who really knows?

The last new enemy type shown off in the trailer is the Archer, who seems to be wielding a long-range sniper rifle. With a far longer and narrower vision cone than other enemies, it’s definitely placed to be the type of enemy that spends a lot of a map posing a threat if you forget that it’s there for too long.

Oh, and Andy Serkis says some cool words at the end. He sure does sound awesome and menacing like Andy Serkis.

Volume is coming to PS4, Vita, PC, and Mac in 2015. I for one am fairly excited.
