Niantic has unleashed a party of new critters upon its super-popular mobile title Pokémon GO. The arrivals are the first new batch of ‘mon (that’s what the kids say, right?) to travel from 2019 Switch releases Pokémon Sword and Shield, so they’re kind of a big deal.

Typically, new seasons of Pokémon only arrive post-summer, but Galarians don’t play by your “rules,” The Man, and are ready to rumble on an iOS and Android platform near you right now. In the mix are Galarian Meowth, who evolves into Perrserker, and Galarian Zigzagoon, who evolves into the Gene Simmons-esque Obstagoon.

Both Pokémon can be found in 7km Eggs, while Galarian Meowth can also be obtained as a Throwback Challenge Champion reward. The Galar region index is also now available for viewing in the Pokédex. There are still a couple of weeks to go in the Sword & Shield event, offering players the opportunity to bag items, nuggets, and candies. You can check out the calendar in our previous article right here.
