Netflix has not been shy about touting The Witcher‘s immense popularity. According to a new report, The Witcher is on-pace to become the most-watched first season of a Netflix original show. To date, 76 million people have tuned in to see Henry Cavill play Geralt of Rivia.

Unsurprisingly, Netflix has already renewed The Witcher for a second season. Less predictably, it’s also getting a spin-off of sorts. Netflix has just announced that it has greenlit an animated Witcher film.

Details are light but the project is called The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and it is being handled by Studio Mir. The South Korean animation team created Nickelodeon’s Legend of Korra series. Studio Mir has also previously worked with Netflix on three shows, including Voltron: Legendary Defender.

As for Netflix, leaning into more video game animation projects — especially for properties that are already proven commodities — isn’t much of a surprise. Castlevania has been a hit thus far. Cuphead and Dragon’s Dogma are already in the works. Geralt will eventually join the animated video game heroes that can only be found on Netflix.
