Monopoly GO has marked the last couple of months of 2024 as the time to introduce Swap Packs. These packs are unique in their function, allowing you to choose between randomized stickers. In short, you won’t have to worry as much about obtaining duplicate stickers.
What are Swap Packs in Monopoly GO?
Swap Packs are high-tier card packs with three, four, and five-star stickers. While they have a chance to give new stickers immediately, you may also spot some duplicates initially. However, you can swap up to three duplicate stickers with new ones, giving you up to three opportunities to obtain new cards to advance and complete your album sets.
When you obtain a Swap Pack, you’ll initially gain four random stickers, ranging between three to five-star tiers. If you’re lucky, a few of these will be new, and you won’t have to worry about swapping them. Otherwise, you can swap duplicates for a chance to get another new sticker, a gold card, or a higher-tier one to make trading easier.
In short, they’re different versions of Wild Stickers, in a way. Although Wild Stickers give you a free new card of your choice, Swap packs let you switch your duplicates for potential new ones. Unfortunately, if you’re close to completing your album, your odds of finding new ones are still low, even if you use your three swaps to attempt to find new cards.
How to get Swap Packs in Monopoly GO
Although Swap Packs were initially available for a limited group of players, they’ve since opened up globally, allowing anyone who participates in particular events to obtain them. You can get Swap Packs as grand prizes in Treasures, Partners, and Tycoon Racers events. While they’re not guaranteed to appear in these every time, you can hover over their grand prize banners to find out if a Swap Pack is available.
However, these Swap Packs aren’t nearly as easy to obtain as regular sticker packs. Like Wild Stickers, they’re relatively rare and only appear as grand prizes in these limited-time events. If you notice a Treasures event or Juggle Jam minigame has recently begun, there’s a chance you’ll find Swap Packs available as rewards. You can then take advantage of ongoing tournaments to collect some resources and advance through them for a chance to claim this special pack.
How to use Swap Packs in Monopoly GO
Below are the exact steps to redeeming Swap Packs in Monopoly GO:
- Obtain and open your Swap Pack.
- Swap up to three stickers with three new ones of your choice.
- Collect your stickers.
You’ll start with four card choices but can use Sticker Boom to get more stickers, much like you would with a regular pack.
The caveat? These are rare packs. They appear about as often as Wild Stickers, most commonly appearing in Treasures and Partners events. Because of this new addition, Wild Stickers are much rarer than usual, making it slightly tougher to guarantee you’ll get a specific card.
You also can’t choose which new stickers you’ll receive. With Wild Stickers, you can scroll through your sets and see what cards you need to complete each. Although Swap Packs have a similar mechanic, it’s ultimately a random selection that the game decides.
