Okay, we have seen grayscale puzzle platformers before, but the film noir style is still largely underused in the gaming space. Renoir wants to fix that.

I’m down with the idea, but developer Soulbound Games has a long way to go before it’s worth getting excited about. For one thing, the announcement video does not show any gameplay, so it is unclear what kind of puzzle platforming to expect. For two, the voice actor narrating doesn’t quite have the gravelly noir sound down.

Still, Renoir looks like something to keep on the radar. It is expected to release on PC and unannounced current-generation consoles.
