Midway explains Super Moves, the Joker loses his Fatality

When we first heard about Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, we shared a good laugh. After playing the title, we’ve come to understand that MK is still a valid 3D fighter. Of course, with any 3D fighter there is a decent amount of depth. In this latest video featuring MK vs. DC, Midway talks about some of that depth – the Super Move and Pro Move.

Super Moves are a staple of the Mortal Kombat franchise. It’s Scorpion’s grabby thing, or Subzero’s freeze spell. Pro Moves are an extension of Super Moves. With what Midway calls “impeccable timing,” players will be able to flesh their Super Move into a Pro Move, which will then double the projectile, inflict more damage, or extend combos.

In a slightly related note, Kotaku is reporting that The Joker’s Fatality that we all fell in love with so long ago has been pulled in favor of a more peaceful, T-rated version with the face-shooting action happening off screen. Go ahead and cry. It’s okay.
