Other Ocean Interactive to develop
Sony dropped their latest BlogCast last night, where, as promised, Sony Interactive Studios chairman Shawn Layden announced some new details pertaining to the remake of PS1 classic MediEvil.
The new take on the humorous 1998 adventure will be a direct remake of the original game and is being developed by Other Ocean Interactive, known for the 3DS port of Minecraft and, erm, Sharknado: The Video Game.
“We’re working with some of the talent that were originally associated with the title 20 years ago,” said Layden in the interview. “So we’re making sure that we’re keeping it real, keeping it to the original intent of the creators. It’s sweet, I tell you. On Halloween, please get to a streaming video point near you and check it out.”
So it sounds like October 31 will bring us our first look at the game, whether in cinematic form or, hopefully, so prototype gameplay footage. Of course we’ll be sure to upload the video here once it becomes available, so stick around and keep those fingers crossed that the remake proves to have been worth the wait.
