It seems like eons since we last heard anything about MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. The game was originally on track for a December 2018 release but appears to have hit a bump in the road. Russ Bullock, president of Piranha Games Inc. (the studio behind MechWarrior 5), took to Twitter to announce the delay and said it was to ensure, “the best single-player MechWarrior experience to date.”

Not all hope is lost for trying out the game this year, though. A demo of MechWarrior 5 will be present at MechCon 2018. Bullock is claiming that the demo build at the event will be more robust now that the game is scheduled for next year. The convention will be held in Vancouver, BC, Canada on December 1 and 2 and only costs $50 to get in. Not such a bad deal to try out the return of this once legendary series.
