Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners is headed to Guilty Gear

Did not see that coming.

Out of all the new characters to be announced for Guilty Gear Strive at EVO 2024, I don’t think Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was on anyone’s bingo card.

In a now private video, Arc System Works revealed a new three-versus-three mode, new stages, and four new characters including fan favorites Dizzy and Venom as well as Unika from the upcoming Guilty Gear Strive anime. But most surprising of all is a guest character: Lucy.

We here at Destructoid love Edgerunners – it has a gripping story that expands the Cyberpunk world in whole new directions and just has some phenomenal characters. Lucy is an odd addition to the world of Guilty Gear, but in the grand scheme of things it isn’t all that weird.

Guilty Gear has similar themes and visuals to the world of Edgerunners, with bombastic over-the-top artwork and individualist ideas. Both Arc System Works and Studio Trigger are known for their flashy action, so I think Lucy will fit well into the roster.

We won’t see Lucy playable until 2025, so we’ll have to wait a while until we get to see her in action and how she fits.
