Time passes, people move. Like a river?s flow, it never ends…
Last week, the sound of millions of jaws dropping could be heard at the announcement of a spiritual successor to the beloved Super Nintendo classic The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Recently, Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma made an appearance on the Japanese Wii U Direct to share a little more on the project.
While most of the presentation was went over what we already know, one very interesting tidbit did pop up; Aonuma alluded that bringing the Zelda series over to the 3DS has been something Nintendo has been working on since the launch of the handheld eye-strain device in 2011. Considering the caliber of Zelda games published in these two years, the reason for this newest entry’s long development time is understandable.
As a lifelong Zelda fan, seeing that familiar forest in a top-down perspective brings back nothing but warm feelings of nostalgia from a different era. I can’t wait to get my hands on this one.
