Lies of P Archbishop Cheese — How to cheese the boss

Serve the archbishop a slice of cheese

Like any Soulslike, Lies of P is full of bosses. Perhaps the first truly difficult encounter is the Fallen Archbishop Andreus. This boss fight is quite challenging and is the first to have two fully separate phases each with its own health bars. Taking down this boss the proper way requires patience, and in most cases a good defense is going to be your offense. However, for those looking for an easier way to take down the boss—essentially a way to cheese the Archbishop in Lies of P—look no further. While there is no sort of exploit or anything, there are a couple things you can do to make the encounter with the Fallen Archbishop Andreus a lot easier.

Use the Salamander Dagger when fighting the Archbishop

The primary way to cheese the Archbishop in Lies of P is to use the Salamander Dagger. The Salamander Dagger is a weapon comprised of the Salamander Dagger Blade and the Salamander Dagger Handle. You can find the set of both at the Workshop Union Entrance. To find it, teleport to the Workshop Union Entrance Stargazer and go up the stairs. In the room on your left is a hidden entrance on the floor which you can drop down and encounter two puppet enemies. After you defeat them, you should see a safe in the room. Inside the safe is the Salamander Dagger.

The Salamander Dagger has two Fable Arts: Ignite and Retreating Stab. Ignite increases your Fire damage for a period of time, and Retreating Stab allows you to quickly stab out in front of you then quickly jump backwards. If you really want to cheese the Archbishop boss fight, upgrade the Salamander Dagger to +3. You should have plenty of Hidden Moonstone to do so.

This weapon makes the encounter much easier, but there’s even another thing you can do to trivialize the encounter.

Summon a Specter

Before the encounter you want to summon a Specter at the fountain. The goal here when trying to cheese the Archbishop is to push him into Phase 2 before your Specter dies. At the start of the encounter, let your Specter draw the aggro of the boss. Once he has his focus, start spamming attacks with your Salamander Dagger. If he switches to you, back out and let your Specter grab aggro again.

If you can manage to push the Archbishop into Phase 2 with your summon still alive, you’re in great shape. Start Phase 2 the same way, letting your Specter grab his attention. Start spamming your attacks in the back of the boss, doing as much damage as you can. Your Specter will fall quick in this phase, as he’s not tanky at all. Your Specter is a big part of the Lies of P Archbishop Cheese.

From here you have two options. If you have any damage-dealing throwables, consider dashing out and using those to finish the fight. If not, you want to transition to a somewhat safer strategy. Hit the Archbishop twice with your Salamander Dagger then be prepared to Parry. If you pull off a successful Perfect Guard, you can end the fight after two or three of these rotations.

Even though this may not necessarily be a cheese strategy in normal terms, it is definitely the easiest way we have found to effeciently kill the Archbishop in Lies of P.
