Epic Games is adding two new difficulty modes to their Lego Fortnite game, with the v30.10 update. The update is set to arrive on June 13, 2024, and will offer players more variety in gameplay. The new Cozy and Expert mode feature different game settings; where the Cozy mode is built for casual players who are new to survival games, the Expert mode is for seasonal survival game players who like a challenge.
Getting Cozy
In the Cozy mode, players can create a world and be accompanied by Slumber, “a friendly face” who will guide the player through their journey into the new world. The default Cozy mode settings ensure that all enemies are set at easy difficulty, and players do not have to worry about survival settings such as hunger, temperature, stamina, friendly damage, and more, as they are disabled. However, players can turn any of these settings on or off, based on their preferences.
Now, for the Experts
As for the Expert mode, the Storm-Wild creatures will deal more damage, move faster, and have more health. The Expert mode also enables the permadeath mode. This means that if a player dies in a world set on Expert mode, they will lose all progress.
However, if players have the new Totem of Return equipped, they will respawn back at their bed with their backpack. To gain the Totem of Return in Lego Fortnite, players have to unlock its recipe first by adding a Storm Core to the inventory. Players can get Storm Cores from Storm-Wild enemies.
Here are all the Storm-Wild enemies players can encounter:
- Storm-Wild Blaster
- Storm-Wild Bone Wolf
- Storm-Wild Brute
- Storm-Wild Frost Brute
- Storm-Wild Frost Roller
- Storm-Wild Frost Scorpion
- Storm-Wild Frost Wolf
- Storm-Wild Hermit Crab
- Storm-Wild Sand Brute
- Storm-Wild Sand Roller
- Storm-Wild Sand Scorpion
- Storm-Wild Sand Spider
- Storm-Wild Sand Wolf
- Storm-Wild Scorpion
- Storm-Wild Skeleton
- Storm-Wild Scoundrels
- Storm-Wild Spider
- Storm-Wild Stone Roller
- Storm-Wild Wild Wolf
While Lego Fortnite settings on the Cozy mode can be altered at will, the same is not the case for the Expert mode. All settings on the Expert mode cannot be changed, with all enemies including Storm-Wild enemies set on hard difficulty, and all survival aspects such as hunger, stamina, temperature, and permadeath are turned on by default.
