Pre-orders have started to pop up at retailers, though it already seems like folks are clamoring to get their own Sora. It will likely be available at usual retailers, though. Sora marks the last Super Smash Bros. character to get an amiibo.

The Sora amiibo clocks in at the standard $15.99 that other Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo have cost. If you aren’t able to pre-order Sora, you’ll likely have to face the wrath of the second-hand market.

Just like the rest of the Smash Bros series, Sora takes on the same pose as his appearance in the character select screen in Ultimate. He’s giving a big smile as he holds the keyblade over his shoulder. His attire is based on Sora’s original costume from the first game. It’s one of his best looks, but that might be my nostalgia talking.

The amiibo can be used in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and will learn from your attacks as it levels up. You can use it in amiibo battles online and in regular Smash matches. It would be cool if it had some integration with Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, but right now, there’s no other usage announced.

Something else you should know about Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory

You may have forgotten this, but if you have a Melody of Memory save file on your Switch, you’ll unlock a new song in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It’s the “Dearly Beloved” theme from the rhythm game’s main menu. It’s an upbeat, jazzy take on the track that works well in battles within Ultimate.

This story has been updated to reflect pre-orders and pricing going live at some retailers.
