Square Enix has announced another new entry to its vast Kingdom Hearts series, one that will be winging its way to mobile devices in just a few months. Project Xenahort – named after the series’ notorious antagonist – will take a closer look at the making of a monster.

It is hinted that players will get to discover the roots of the fallen Keyblade Master’s wicked ways, learning what turned a once-carefree Destiny Island denizen into a cruel and manipulative man, desperately chasing the Darkness in a bid to become all-powerful. It should also be noted that “Project Xenahort” is apparently a placeholder name, as Square Enix is holding a “Guess the Name” contest on social media.

There are, as of yet, no details pertaining to gameplay, delivery method, or even a teaser trailer, but we do know that Project Xenahort launches this spring on iOS and Android devices, so we can expect to hear finer details on this pocket-sized project soon. Interested parties should keep an eye on the new Project Xenahort website.

In the meantime, Kingdom Hearts III is available now on PS4 and Xbox One. The eagerly-anticipated ReMIND DLC arrives on PS4 today, with Xbox One to follow February 24.
