Pokémon GO has revealed new details for its premium timed research for the 2025 World Championships, and despite the events mainly being around A new Costumed Pikachu, it’s sad to say that this Pikachu is not a reward in any of the various tasks that you have to complete.
In fact, for a lot of trainers, you might be wondering if this pass is even worth paying for, considering the small amount of rewards on offer, especially if you are a long-time player. If you are coming here for a simple answer, then the answer you are looking for is “depends,” as while I can see some value to getting this pass, others might not feel so inclined to do so.
First of all, let’s show you what you can get during the pass.

As you can see, there are a lot of interesting Pokémon on offer, but nothing that screams to me is fantastic, other than the Guzzlord encounter you get for the completion bonus. The inclusion of only a single Premium Battle Pass also feels pretty weak, considering how many raids people might need to do to find the new shiny costumed Pikachu.
I’ve been raiding for Shiny Pikachus all morning. I’m on my 12th now, still no shiny in sight, and that includes Remote Raid Passes as well.
While the Guzzlord is the main takeaway and there is a slim possibility you can find a Shiny one, this pass seems lacking, and I’d give it a skip myself. But feel free to make your own judgment call. If you are a new player, you get some pretty interesting Pokémon at least, but for the veterans out there, I’ll be giving this one a hard pass.
