Is Payday 3 on PS4 and Xbox One?

You may need to upgrade to the latest and greatest.

Payday 3 Playstation 4 or Xbox One ports could be a boon for the heist-based shooter. On older consoles, more players may eagerly join in on the crime as many still wish to jump in with PC or current-gen companions. However, the game might be too demanding for last-generation systems. Here’s what we know about potential Payday 3 PS4 and Xbox One ports.

Can you perform heists with a Payday 3 PS4 port?

Like a well-executed plan in-game, let’s cut to the chase: There’s neither a Payday 3 PS4 port nor a Payday 3 Xbox One version.

“For me, Payday 3 is the evolution of the Payday franchise,” said global brand director and head of community Almir Listo to VGC. “The biggest change is to the improved stealth. There are things you can do in stealth to complete the heist.”

Listo also references the improved AI and how enemies “act and behave.” He says Payday 3 is “much more interesting” and notes enemies”move as a proper SWAT unit now and hide behind shields.”

“They care about civilians,” said List. “So if you have a bunch of civilians around you, they won’t throw grenades.”

Advanced AI changes like these might be why last-generation versions aren’t possible, but that is just speculation.

Games like Payday 3 on PS4 and Xbox One

If you’re still looking for a great shooter to play with friends, there are a few options. You can perform heists in Grand Theft Auto V with your pals through its Online mode. Additionally, you can play as criminals that break out of jail in a third-person shooter co-op experience called A Way Out.

Of course, you could just play Payday 2 on your system of choice as well. However, there isn’t any crossplay like there is in Payday 3.
