Is Payday 3 free-to-play?

Playing this free-to-play would be a steal! Heh

After a decade-long hiatus, the idea of a Payday 3 free to play version makes a lot of sense. Some of the most popular multiplayer games like Fortnite and Apex Legends are available for free. On the other hand, you need to pay for the last game in the series. Here’s everything we know about a Payday 3 free to play edition.

Is there a Payday 3 free-to-play version?

Let’s cut to the chase: There’s no Payday 3 free-to-play option. You’ll need to spend money to play this multiplayer heist title. The standard edition costs $39.99, which is cheaper than most games on day one, but it will be a barrier to entry for many players. There are no plans to bring a free-to-play version as of writing.

By the way, there are two special editions to consider. The Silver Edition at $69.99 gives you:

  • Three days of early access,
  • A six month season pass
  • A Dark Sterling mask

The Gold Edition at $89.99 provides the same as the Silver Edition and an extended season pass of one year:

  • Skull of Liberty Mask
  • Gold Slate Gloves

Is Payday 3 available on Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus Extra?

If you don’t want to pay for PayDay 3, I have great news for you. PayDay 3 will be on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Specifically, it will join the service on September 21.

Unfortunately, Payday 3 will not be on PlayStation Plus Extra‘s huge library of games. However, if you want a different shooter set in New York City, you can play The Division 2 through PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium.
