It would only make sense to have Lightning McQueen in Disney Speedstorm. This Pixar character has great experience in racing and has been successful in the Piston Cup. He hasn’t appeared in Gameloft’s Disney Dreamlight Valley, however, and Mr. Kachow is not in Speedstorm at the moment.

Can you play as Lightning McQueen in Disney Speedstorm?

Despite Disney Speedstorm being a racing game, Lightning McQueen isn’t a playable character as of the time of writing. Yes, you won’t be able to race against the likes of Mickey Mouse, Jack Sparrow, and Belle with the 95-labeled race car.

The reason might be because the character usually sits on top of the car, driving it. Lightning McQueen being the car itself might be a hurdle for Gameloft to figure out in Disney Speedstorm. With how popular the Cars series is though for Disney, perhaps that’s an issue Gameloft will eventually figure out. The Cars franchise has made over $1 billion at the box office, and the toy sales are probably astronomical.

Is Lightning McQueen playable in other Disney games?

Thankfully, there are some Cars games that let you play as Lightning McQueen. The most accessible for modern systems is Cars 3: Driven to Windeveloped by Hogwarts Legacy studio Avalanche Software. It controls surprisingly well and drifting feels satisfying. There are even items you can use just like Disney Speedverse and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. You can also check out Cars 2: The Video Game on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC through Steam. It’s available to stream through PlayStation Plus Premium too.

Then there’s Disney Infinity. The first game features a world based on Radiator Springs, with a playable Lightning McQueen (who is joined by a playable Mater, Holley Shiftwell, and Francesco Bernoulli).
