A Granblue Fantasy Relink live service experience may be what folks more familiar with the series are hoping for, with its history rooted in the gacha and mobile experience — think more Genshin Impact. However, Relink is a departure from its mobile game roots,
Will Granblue Fantasy Relink go live service?
As of the time of writing, Granblue Fantasy Relink won’t be a live service RPG like Genshin Impact, despite it having over 100 side quests to finish with friends. ”The game is not a live service game,” said Granblue Fantasy: Relink General Director Tetsuya Fukuhara to RPGSite. “As far as dailies and weeklies are concerned, there’s not really anything like that in the game.”
He later explained that “There’s not any sort of system set up where you’re going to really hurt yourself by missing days of play.” There will also be no battle passes, and you can play Granblue Fantasy Relink offline like any classic RPG, such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Kingdom Hearts, etc.
Fukuhara did confirm, on the other hand, that there’s a “bonus system for playing the game” in its later stages.
Is this game co-op?
Granblue Fantasy Relink will support four player online co-op. PS4 and PS5 owners can play together, but there won’t be crossplay between the consoles and PC, at least at launch. The game’s been long delayed, but we’ll finally be able to get our hands on Granblue Fantasy Relink when it launches on February 1. While you wait, you can check out Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, a fighting game take on the series by Arc System Works.
