Is Assassin’s Creed Mirage multiplayer or co-op?

Can you assassinate targets with your pals?

Is there Assassin's Creed Mirage multiplayer?

Assassin’s Creed Mirage multiplayer would make some sense. Past entries in the series like Brotherhood and Unity had competitive and co-op modes available. This game isn’t as massively open as Origins or Odyssey either. Here’s what we know about a potential Assassin’s Creed Mirage multiplayer mode.

Can you play Assassin’s Creed Mirage multiplayer?

At the time of writing, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is strictly a single-player game. It’s a traditional experience in the series, sticking to the fundamentals like stellar stealth game design and a stunning historical city to explore. It’s also at a cheaper price point than most Assassin’s Creed titles.

A multiplayer feature could be added in a later patch, but it’s unlikely. The publisher Ubisoft has not mentioned a mode like that for Mirage in the past.

Will future Assassin’s Creed games have co-op or multiplayer modes?

Despite Assassin’s Creed Mirage lacking multiplayer modes, a new game focused on playing with your friends is on the way. Ubisoft is working on a project called Invictus, which will be a part of a hub called Assassin’s Creed Infinity.

“This opens up the opportunity for us to think differently about multiplayer and making it available at the top level in the hub, and in potentially more ways than one,” said vice president and executive producer of the Assassin’s Creed brand Marc-Alexis Côté in an official news post. “This is only the beginning of the return of multiplayer.”

We have no idea what this multiplayer installment of the franchise has in store for us at this point in time. We do know, however, that the Japan-based Codename RED and the Salem-based Codename HEXE will be single-player only as well.
