Is Armored Core 6 cross play?

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is bringing mech-based action combat to a variety of platforms on August 25.  With it releasing on so many platforms, some have expressed interest in playing with friends on other platforms. It’s been over a decade since the last entry in the Armored Core franchise. In fact, Armored Core 5 launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Cross play wasn’t really even an option back then, so we don’t have much history to go off of there.

However, if we take a look at the most recently released FromSoftware title, Elden Ring, we can get an idea of whether or not we can expect cross play compatibility. Unfortunately, looking at Elden Ring doesn’t quite give us a concrete answer.  The RPG did not have cross-platform support, but it did have cross-gen support for the same consoles. What this means is that PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players could play together, as could Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players. But PlayStation and Xbox players could not play together and those playing on PC were on their own.

With all the information available to us right now it’s time to ask the important question: Is Armored Core 6 cross play?

Is Armored Core 6 cross play?

FromSoftware hasn’t officially confirmed or denied cross play compatibility for Armored Core 6, which more than likely means no. With Armored Core 6 releasing so soon, it’s likely that FromSoftware would have already announced cross-play as a feature. This would be a pretty big feature so it’s unlikely it was overlooked if it exists.

However, it’s possible they plan to add it as a feature later down the line. If so, we will be sure to update this guide with any new information.

Armored Core 6 releases on August 25 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
