Going live at 2:00pm Pacific
Microsoft has been ramping up its Inside Xbox shows, or it at least feels that way. Love ’em or hate ’em, I appreciate their communication efforts, particularly after Sony’s underbaked first State of Play stream. The April 2019 episode of Inside Xbox begins streaming today at 2:00pm Pacific. Let’s watch!
You’ll be able to follow along with the news right here and on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Mixer.
Leading the way, there’s talk of “the latest news on E3, including Xbox FanFest.” Cuphead on Nintendo Switch was a great start, but I’m keen to hear if any other recent rumblings pan out in a meaningful way. You have to expect Microsoft to make an even bigger case for its GamePass program in June. We also still haven’t seen a confirmation of the leaked disc-free, all-digital Xbox One S console.
As for individual games, the next episode of Inside Xbox promises to divulge the latest on Sea of Thieves, Rage 2, and Warhammer Chaosbane, plus a guest spot from The Coalition (and Gears of War)’s Rod Fergusson. Beyond that? “Several surprises” and “a handful” of backward-compatible titles.
If you’re someone who’s taken the time to fine-tune your Mixer account, heads up that Microsoft is bringing back the Flintlock reward for Sea of Thieves and “an avatar item” for Rage 2. What could it be?
Lastly, it’s worth stressing that this show will run for an hour. My main complaint with Inside Xbox has been that they can drag on if the caliber of news isn’t quite there, so hey, this seems like tangible progress. There’s a balance to be struck between the numerous annual gaming expos and these regularly-scheduled news shows. Lean too far in either direction, and the other side suffers.
