Remember last week when NetherRealm started taking registrations for an Injustice 2 beta? Well, you might want to check your inbox if you signed up, because the first wave of beta invites have just been released.

On a live stream earlier today, NetherRealm confirmed that the beta for Injustice 2 will begin immediately, feature 4 characters, and last a solid month. Not a bad way to get a feel for the game. If you’re worried that you haven’t received a code yet, don’t panic, NetherRealm says it will be sending out more in the near future.

The live stream also included a more detailed look at the gear system (around 24 minutes into the stream), showing off the nuances between two differently equipped Batmen. It looks like certain pieces of gear will alter your character’s move-sets, changing special moves or granting access to new ones. I’m still not sold on the idea. Seems like Mortal Kombat X‘s variation system (which I loved) but with grinding, random drops, and uncertainty. That said, at least the armor looks dope.

We also got our first look at Robin in action in a video you can check out above. Little brat looks like he’ll be handful.
