Indie studio Exkee wants you to Kill the Bad Guy

But make it look like an accident

When we hear about new titles being approved on Steam Greenlight, it is usually a small handful of games that have received a fair amount of buzz, buried in a group of otherwise unknown games. One such title that previously slipped past our radar was Exkee’s Kill the Bad Guy. It is understandable that we missed it in that batch; it was only on Greenlight for two days before being approved in February.

The color palette is a bit reminiscent of MadWorld, taking place in a mostly monochrome world that becomes accented by inevitable gratuitous blood spatter. Gameplay in Kill the Bad Guy is a bit more cerebral, focusing on the creation of environmental traps made to look like freak accidents. Eventually, players set off a chain of events that all lead the target into the kill zone. Don’t feel bad about it, the guy being killed is bad. He probably deserves it.

Following its Greenlight success, Kill the Bad Guy is now up on Kickstarter, shooting for $60,000 as its initial goal. According to the campaign, it is very close to completion. In contrast with most videogame crowdfunding efforts, Exkee expects to release it in just a couple months — May of this year — pending successful funding.
