A cosmopolitan team of developers with experience working on titles such as Valkyria Chronicles, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Diablo III, and the Final Fantasy series have joined forces to create Project Phoenix, an indie Japanese role-playing game.

The venture is headlined by director Hiroaki Yura, fantasy novelist Yoko Enoki, legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu, and a growing staff of talented creators with experience working on everthing from Halo 4 to The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

A crowdfunding campaign to finance the enterprise kicked off earlier this week and surpassed its $100,000 goal within nine hours of launch. To date, the project has raised more than $500,000 with over three weeks remaining.

Creative Intelligence Arts assert the title is currently in pre-production and is planned for release in 2015 on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux. The group is also considering iOS, Android, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita versions should the endeavor generate enough capital. That doesn’t sound like it should be a problem.
