Inazuma Eleven: Ares, the reboot a the series that has had a huge presence in Japan and Europe but barely made a scratch in North America, has been teased for a few months now with the only thing known about it is it’s a reboot and it’s coming to the 3DS. Earlier this year another platform was mentioned, one with more power, and we just assumed it was the Switch.

That assumption is right, but the initial idea this would be hitting the 3DS was wrong. During a livesteam, Level-5 confirmed Inazuma Eleven: Ares will hit the Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS and the PlayStation 4 within the next year.

I grabbed Inazuma Eleven for the 3DS a few years ago and put a solid 10 hours into it before something took my attention from it. This will be the first new game in the series since Inazuma Eleven GO 3: Galaxy released in Japan back in 2013.

According to Siliconera, the graphics are a work in progress. The game is being designed with soccer newcomers in mind. Inazuma Eleven: Ares will launch for the Switch, PS4 and mobile devices in Japan next summer. I imagine a European release will follow sometime after.
