Sony has filed suit against Gabriel Garcia and Timothy Joey Zoucha, Jr., a pair of would-be entrepeneurs who were allegedly using Craiglist to advertise their PSP piracy business. The none-too-smart busnessmen apparently offered to modify PSPs and load them with pirated games.

Not only did they foolishly promote their activity, they were incredibly brash about it and did little to hide their activity. Garcia promoted himself as “THE ONLY TRUE FIRST PSP MODDER ON CRAIGSLIST,” and even included a PlayStation logo in his ad. He offered cash-only package deals which included over 500 illegal game copies.

Garcia was nailed when Sony sent a private investigator to pose as a customer. The investigator paid the required $80 to buy the “Super Spring Deal,” which got him 100 pirated games. 11 DVD-Rs containing more games were also sold, along with a DVD entitled How To Use Your PSP Mods.

Zoucha was caught the same way, after modding a PSP for $28 and selling 100 games for a further $20. As with Garcia, 11 DVD-Rs were allegedly sold, and a deal was promised if more PSPs were brought his way.

Gabriel Garcia and Timothy Joey Zoucha, Jr. Not clever people.
