Fortunately, unlocking it is as simple as just about everything else in the game. Just add it to your armory unlocks menu, then complete five daily challenges to get it. Once you’ve earned enough unlock points, you’ll find the Ninja Vest in the Vest section of your perk menu while creating a class.

What is the Ninja Vest?

The brand-new Ninja Vest perk is one of the most versatile available, especially in the vest slot. It eliminates footstep sounds, makes you immune to movement reduction effects, and gives you bonus throwing knife and star ammo, according to a developer blog.

In other words, it turns you into a ninja. If you’re one of those players who want to sneak up on helpless players while they dump a full magazine into your chest, and then stab them, this is for you. The additional throwing knives or stars are sure to come in handy too.

Is Ninja Vest worth using in Modern Warfare 3?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 season 2 adds a Ninja Vest perk

Before Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 reached season two, it had four available vest perks.

  • Demolition Vest – Resupply tacticals and lethals every 25 seconds.
  • Engineer Vest – Spot enemy equipment, killstreaks, and field upgrades through walls and get faster field upgrade cooldown.
  • Gunner Vest – Improved reload speed and start with max ammo.
  • Infantry Vest – Improved tactical sprint duration.

While all the Vest perks are useful, the Ninja Vest is definitely in the running for the best option. It’s definitely best used by players wielding throwing knives, but can also come in handy for just sneaking around, not being affected by stun grenades.

Another benefit is that the Ninja Vest can replace your Covert Sneakers. The Boot Perk only eliminates footstep sounds, so the newer option brings more to the table. Swapping these out also opens up other boot options, like Stalker Boots for increased ADS movement speed or Lightweight Boots for increased movement speed.
