Sonic Superstars, the latest addition to the Sonic the Hedgehog game series, reintroduces the renowned Super Sonic ability. Like its predecessors, this game grants players the opportunity to unlock and utilize the immense power of Super Sonic, in addition to other super transformations for the playable characters.
With this ability, Sonic gains exceptional speed and the capability to effortlessly defeat enemies by simply running through them. Here’s how to unlock Super Sonic in Sonic Superstars.
How to unlock Super Sonic in Sonic Superstars
In order to unlock the Super Sonic ability in Sonic Superstars, you must collect all seven Chaos Emeralds scattered throughout the game. Each Chaos Emerald is hidden within a giant golden ring located in different stages. When you interact with the giant golden ring, you’ll teleport to another stage where you need to catch the Chaos Emerald by swinging, similar to Spider-Man.
If you fail to obtain the Emerald, you can retry by quitting and re-entering the stage. The giant ring will remain in place, allowing you to keep attempting to successfully obtain the Emerald. Remember, once you obtain a Chaos Emerald, the corresponding giant ring will permanently disappear from the stage. This means that you cannot repeatedly access the same giant ring to collect all seven Emeralds.
Apart from Emeralds, you will need one more thing to activate the Super Sonic mode, and that is 50 rings. Once you have all seven Emeralds and 50 rings, you can activate the Super Sonic mode simply by opening the ability wheel, selecting the yellow symbol, and pressing the “Y” button.
As soon as you activate this ability, your character will transform into Super Sonic. In this form, you become invincible and gain tremendous speed. However, your ring counter will gradually decrease over time. Once it reaches zero, you will return to regular Sonic. So, make sure to collect rings to maintain your Super Sonic form.
