While the starter characters like Sweeper and Bunker can help you clear the initial stages, you’ll need powerful units to take down bosses and conquer the more challenging levels. 

With eight characters available, each with unique abilities, assembling a well-rounded team is crucial to your success. While some characters are available initially, others require specific achievements or progression milestones to unlock. Let’s take a closer look at each character and how you can unlock them:

Sweeper, Zed, and Bunker

Sweeper, Zed, and Bunker are the starter characters available right from the beginning of the game. You do not need to meet any specific conditions to access these characters.

Shroom

To unlock Shroom, a character with healing abilities, you must enter the Devotion Garden, then return to the lobby and interact with the Shrooms. With Shroom by your side, you can heal your allies by defeating enemies, ensuring their survival in the treacherous space station.

Cartie

Cartie, a character specialized in dealing damage and buffing the Bot, can be unlocked in the Labor Colony area. Progress through the game until you reach this region, and you’ll have the opportunity to unlock Cartie. With Cartie’s expertise, you can unleash devastating attacks and enhance the capabilities of your trusty Bot companion.

Blaze

Enter into the Procedural Factory to unlock Blaze, a character who excels at setting up mines to halt enemy advances.

Fassie

To unlock Fassie, a character capable of making enemies attack each other, you must make your way to the Headquarters area. Fassie’s unique ability to manipulate enemy behavior can prove invaluable in challenging encounters.

Comrade

You must enter the Transcendence for the first time to unlock Comrade. Unlock this area by progressing through the game, and Comrade will join your team. With Comrade’s assistance, you’ll have access to additional turrets and the ability to repair Resource Generators.
