How to train your players in UFL

An eye for talent

UFL is now out on early access for the Foundation Pack owners, and growing your players is one of the first things you want to master.

Unlike eFootball and EA FC 25, you don’t have to rely on the gacha to get the players in your squad. Instead, you can buy them directly, and thus, there’s complete control of how your team looks. Unless you have a thick wallet, you’ll have limited RP and money, and you’ll want to sign players with lower overall ratings.

While the players will be weak at first, you’ll be able to train them up and turn them into superstars with the correct strategy.

UFL player training explained

Every player inside the game starts with a certain overall rating and set of stats. The first task is to complete games with them. After every complete match, your players will gain XP points. As they level up, their in-game stats will improve gradually.

The advantages of every level up aren’t equal, and the players have different growth rates. In my experience, a player with a lower starting rating will improve faster than a high-rated player. Additionally, the amount of XP required to level up a player changes as they keep improving. For example, the amount of XP that Kobie Mainoo will take to go from Level 1 to 2 will be different when he has to jump from Level 7 to 8.

When your players level up, they will gain Skill Points. These Skill Points are only granted at specific levels, so you’re not going to be showered with choices. That said, the skills are critical to how a card performs inside the game. Consider them similar to PlayStyles in EA FC 25, but there’s a core difference – you can choose which skill to use.

The key is to ensure that a footballer has a core skill (at least golden) and additional supportive ones that suit his position. You have a wide set of options to choose from, but be careful before you lock your skill point.

That’s pretty much it when it comes to improving your players in UFL. Additionally, using skins on them will unlock certain bonuses if you can meet the upgrade requirements of that series.
