How to solve the Fiery Plains Mythic Trial in Disney Dreamlight Valley

By now, you’re likely familiar with Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale’s trials. After unlocking The Fiery Plains, you’ll discover another Mythic Trial and begin the Promethean Flame quest. While Hades will give you pointers along the way, it’s ultimately up to you to solve its puzzles.

The Promethean Flame quest walkthrough

The Promethean Flame will begin immediately after entering The Fiery Plains, completing A Moth to a Flame, and beginning the biome’s Mythic Trial. By now, you’ll have a watering can upgrade that lets you clear away fire, allowing you to douse any flames blocking you from the trial gate’s entrance.

Upon entering the trial, you’ll immediately find a bridge blocking access to the rest of the realm. Pull the lever to your left and cross the bridge. Right away, you’ll spot the source of corruption but have no way to access it.

Hades will notice this, too, and tells you to act like Prometheus, a titan who stole fire from Mount Olympus. He’ll point out the torches around the trial and tell you to find any missing ones.

Unsurprisingly, he doesn’t offer to help with this, and you can even question him about it before moving on to the main task at hand. On the plus side, you can open the green chest behind the source of corruption to find some Grecian Baked Fish for a massive energy boost or quick cash.

First Flaming Torch location

Now that we know our objective, it’s time to find the three flaming torches for this Mythic Trial. We can quickly spot one of the three by heading to our left and interacting with the nearby gold bowl. It’ll slide down the line, lighting up once it reaches the end.

Second Flaming Torch location

With the easy torch out of the way, it’s time to head to the right side of the area. On the platform’s right side, you’ll see an open thunderbolt gate, leading to a lever. Pulling this lever brings the nearby bridge down, allowing you to access your first puzzle.

Once you approach the machine and its water mechanism, use your watering can on the latter to activate the platform. Light will begin shining toward the bridge you just crossed, connecting most of the magic sources to a torch behind a gate. Run toward this gate, head up the stairs, and swing your Royal Net to open the bolt doors.

There’s just one quick problem, though: you can’t squeeze behind the torch here. Fortunately, there’s another gate right beside it, which you can use to run behind the torch, interact with it, and lead to the end of the line. It’ll light up, bringing you two-thirds of the way to the end.

Third Flaming Torch location

It’s time to hunt down one more torch. Head back over the bridge, and rather than turning right, head left until you reach a rotating bridge. Go on here and swing your Royal Net at the wheel until the bridge connects to the green chest containing a furniture bag. You don’t need this bag for the puzzle itself, but getting some cosmetics is nice.

However, you will need the other bridge path next to the chest platform. Head back to the wheel and take the other path to reach the torch bowl and two bridges. One bridge leads to a second treasure chest and a water mechanism, which you can access by flipping the lever net to it. Open the chest to get some ambrosia before watering the machine to activate the light.

Now that the path is active, push the torch until it reaches the machine before the vertical bridge. Break the nearby gray stones to activate a lever, bringing the bridge down to your level. You can now push the torch to the end, completing the Promethean Flame’s main quest objective. Return to Hades to start wrapping up this section.

Interact with the Fiery Plains’ magical corruption

With that said and done, Hades will applaud your hard work in solving the puzzle by yourself without any help. More importantly, you’ll now find a bridge to the source of corruption, bringing you one step closer to wrapping up part one of the Storybook Vale’s storyline. One final conversation with Hades will conclude the Promethean Flame quest, marking the end of the Fiery Plains’ Mythic Trial.
